Monday

OK, so I missed the “morning” part of Monday mornings… Hey, at least I made it today!

Anyhow, This last weekend consisted entirely of working on our Church‘s CD/DVD recording worship event. It was a blast working on it & so cool. I’ll post up some pictures (that I took from behind the media booth) to give you an idea of what went on.

Anyhow, I’m tired & I miss my family (I was there Wednesday night through Sunday night & only home for about an hour after work & a few hours in the weekend mornings).

We won’t be doing much as the boys (mostly Taven) stabilize over the next few days.

Of course as soon as Taven is secure that I’m not going anywhere, I’ll be headed to Las Vega for 3 days… (Work convention/conference).

Catch ya later!

Monday Morning…

OK, OK… So I already missed a Monday Morning list since thinking I could keep to a “blogging schedule”…

Eh, sue me… If you’ve at all tried to keep up with mu blogging you already know I’m sporadic at best… I’ll try harder in the future. (Maybe)

Wow… I’m actually having a hard time remembering what we did on Saturday… Strange…

Ooh! Now I remember! (After typing up Sunday’s list)

Saturday

  • Replaced the door knob on the front door
  • Added a dead-bolt to the front door
  • Swapped out a non-matching door knob on side door
  • Hung out with one of my best long-time buddies for a couple of hours
  • I honestly can’t remember what we did after this though… (After 3pm-ish)

Sunday

  • Went to Church
  • Watched the first half of the first episode of a show called Fringe (We had it recorded)
  • Headed up a “Sending Team” Meeting for our friends before they go back home
  • Chased Taven around the playground @ church (he loved it!)
  • Crashed @ home

Good weekend over-all.
This weeks going to be a bit of a beating as we (the 121cc Worship & Tech teams) get ready for the CD/DVD production event this coming weekend. I’ll be there Wednesday night, Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday from 1PM to 9PM, and Sunday from 5PM to 9PM… And I’m on the short schedule!!! There are guys/gals who will be there a lot more than me!!! Oy. But it will be fun to be a part of something bigger than just a Sunday morning service.

I know I’ll miss my little boys though… Maybe I’ll go to work & get off early those days so I can see them for a little bit before heading up there… Excuse me while I tuck my pouting bottom lip back in… I cherrish spending as much time as I can with my wife & boys, so it’ll be a little sad to not spend as much time with them for those few days. [...sniff...]

Last weekend…

This is really just a long boring story of how our trip to PA went this last weekend… Just don’t say I didn’t warn you that it’s a long… Boring… Recount of events.

We went to visit Melisa’s Grand Parents last weekend (Tim’s Mom & Dad) in Pennsylvania. They had a 60th wedding anniversary party on Saturday night & there were around 100-150 people there!

Anyhow, it was the first trip for us to take since we’ve had kiddos & boy was it a learning experience. We brought one large bag to check, 4 bags to carry on, 2 car-seats, and an “umbrella stroller”, one Taven on foot, one Bradey in the stroller or in a “front-pack”, strap on, crazy contraption to allow hands-free carrying of a child…

Luckily, when we got there, I saw we could check one bag per person for free, so I went ahead & checked one of the 4 planned carry-ons so we could eliminate some of our weight on & off the planes.

We gate-checked Bradey’s car-seat & the stroller & had Bradey strapped on Mommy’s chest while she dragged one carry on. I carried Taven (he dropped to the floor when we got close to the plane & wouldn’t even think about getting up due to the loud noise of the plane’s engines), 2 backpacks, and his car-seat.  Taven was fine once we actually got on the plane.

Every flight, we ended up being the last ones to sit down (trying to find a place for one carry on, buckling in Taven’s car-seat, getting myself situated, getting Bradey out of the contraption so Melisa can sit down, & all of us getting buckled in. Oy…

We had a 2 hour flight to Detroit, MI, then a one hour flight on to Erie, PA. (And the same in reverse coming home… Duh…).

Anyhow, Taven slept (well, attempted to sleep) on a comforter folded up on the ground in our room, and Bradey slept in a pack-&-play in another room and Melisa’s Aunt’s house. (Nice house by the way, 13 Acres, large pond, good-sized work shop, great house with 2 patios/porches.)

We spent Thursday crashing & getting settled in, Friday with the Parents (Tim & Penny), Grand Parents, and the Choates (Justin, Brooke, & Logan), and Saturday was getting ready for the party & partying.

I haven’t had a chance to pull the pictures off of the camera (see the previous post about computer problems for a clue as to why…) But when I do get the pictures off, I’ll post a little gallery for you all.

Welp, I gotta scoot.

Ah, technology…

You know… I hate being a techie with no money… Those two don’t go together too well…

Wednesday morning (last week, right before we were to fly out of town) we woke up to a silent office… This is odd since the computer fans are usually going to town creating a constant white-noise eminating from that room.

I haven’t had the time to dig in & troubleshoot the problem, but I have a feeling it’s the motherboard. I already had to plug the CPU fan into the case fan slot because the CPU fan circuit was blown. Which is why the fans were so loud, because I had to turn them up to actually keep things cool enough to keep it running.

It’s OK, right? almost all of our files are kept safe on an external drive plugged into the USB port. I’ll just pull out our old Mac laptop & plug in the hard drive… Wrong…

For whatever reason, our popr little Mac doesn’t have the ability to read NTFS formatted partitions (Drives formated for Windows)… Ug… There’s plenty of evidence on the web saying it should be able to read the info, but not save anything to the drive, but apparently I need to look into some updates… Time to learn a little more Mac tech… (Hopefully there’s some free updates without having to buy the latest version of the OS, I’m not sure this little 500MHz laptop could handle much more…)

Ooh! I know! Maybe I can look into installing Linux on this little laptop… That would actually make it much more usable! Maybe when I have the time…

Eh, we’ll see.

In the mean time, I’ve gotta figure out what’s wrong with our office computer & see if I can get it up & running again.

Gotta love tech. Just wish things didn’t break…

Monday Morning

I’ve seen a couple of friends do Monday morning updates & breakdowns of their weekends, & thought that would be a good way for me to try & keep regular updates here on the ever-lagging blog. I may not always have something exciting to write about, but I will try to come up with something regardless of the level of activity (or inactivity as is most often the case) in my life.

Anyhow… On with this Monday Morning update.
