Fun Moments in Taven Linguistics

Tonight I came home with Hamburgers from McDonald’s… (We normally don’t do that, but we didn’t have dinner plans, so we made an exception). Anyhow, we were starting to sit down at the table. Taven was already in his seat, Melisa sat down & Bradey started crying (he was in the bassinet in our room sleeping).

Taven decided to show Daddy his new words he learned to say… Crying. However when it came out of Taven’s mouth it sounded more like “Bradey Dying!“… & he said it over & over again…

He still doesn’t have down the “K” sound so he substitutes  whatever sound he feels best fits… Some times it’s a “T” somtimes it’s a “D”… Needless to say, this is one of the funnier moments in Taven linguistics.

From the mouths of babes…

Taven has been learning so many new words lately… He is learning to say some of the words he’s always said better! (Instead of Dayo he’s now also saying Fam when he sees a ceiling fan)

Anyhow, we were flipping channels on TV & we stopped by “Beauty & the Geek” for a second while paying attention to Bradey & playing with Taven… Anyhow, one of the girls was giving relational advice to one of the geek & said “You can’t turn a ho into a house-wife”… Guess what part of that phrase Taven picked up on & repeated…

Yup… He promptly said

A HO!

Instead of making a big deal, we just let it slide & hadn’t heard it again, but that was hilarious! Well, for a minute… We immediately realized that we can no longer watch shows around him with any type of language we don’t want him repeating.

More Pics…

I know… I’ve been lazy… Not many posts since Bradey’s arrival. But that’s how it goes… You get busy, & you lack time to do the things you don’t have at the top of your list.

Anyhow, here’s a few pics to laugh at.

Finally, More pics!

OK, OK… I finally got around to sorting through our current collection of recent pictures & below are a handful. I don’t have too many pics with the family members because most of those pics have been taken with their cameras or we just didn’t get too many pics with them yet. They’ll come soon enough.

It’s getting late & I getting tired.

Enjoy!

Blast of pictures (New Baby!)

I’ve not been getting very much sleep & I’m just barely awake & able to think clearly enough to want to try to send out some pictures & info of our new Baby Boy!!!

This is just a blast to make sure y’all know he’s here & how Melisa is doing… Ask if you want more details or whatever.

Bradey Joshua Smith

Born March 7th, 2008 @ 7:37 PM
Weight: 8lbs 9 oz
Length: 20.87 inches

He was breach a couple of weeks ago, but he had turned within a few days of his scheduled C-Section. When we got here for the scheduled C-Section, we double checked him via sonogram & sure enough, he was “vertex” (Head down in the right position for delivery). The Dr induced Melisa @ 12PM (broke her water & started her on pitocin). At 4PM Melisa was dilated to 10cm (ready to push!), but Bradey seemed like he didn’t want to drop down far enough…??? He’s gonna be a stubborn little guy! Mommy pushed for a little over an hour with not much movement out of the baby. We decided to stop pushing for a while to see if he would “labor down” naturally with the contractions, but they got so painful for Melisa (already w/ an epidural) & Bradey still wouldn’t budge. We decided to go ahead & have a C-Section to get the little guy out of there & get Melisa out of pain.

Everything went pretty smoothly since then. Baby & Momma are doing great & we’ll be headed home tomorrow (Monday).

OK… That was more info than I was planning on putting in here, but since it’s here now, I’m not going to go through the trouble of deleting it. Heck, I’m just going to copy/paste it into my blog so I don’t have to type it up again!

And a new adventure begins. (How on earth am I supposed to be Daddy to 2 little ones… One was hard enough! Well, hard isn’t the right word, more like consuming enough…)

Love you all (yes… even you). (Don’t ask me who I was talking to right there… I’m not even sure.)

Later,

Proud Daddy of 2 beautiful little boys.
